eat it, lady gaga

my last blog was about the absurdly talented musical group city and colour and my experience attending their concert. what i failed to note was one of the way too many toll attendants we encountered in our journey to Philadelphia and back. most of you probably think i didn't mention this because tolls aren't *really* noteworthy. but this woman was different. she was smiling. she was happy. and she was totally grooving in her toll booth.

it amazes me how ceo snobs and sweet 16 princesses can have everything yet still be distant and miserable. especially in contrast toll employees at midnight who are probably thinking 'really? you can't just buy a freakin' EZ pass?"

boy did i feel like a snob. i complain my homework, or train rides to and from my internship, or oddly enough, how small my apartment is. and to think of all the dancing room i actually have--which i do take advantage of....i've said too much.

regardless, this toll booth attendants definitely provided supporting evidence to the money can't by happiness theory. money can't by baseball championships either. but that's a different blog.

i'm not saying that it is a crime, or a sin, to live comfortably, or even luxuriously. but whether you are uncomfortably wealthy or unfortunately poor, or even just college student poor, i hope it does not skew how you see your life. it's so important to stay on your feet because there is nothing that you can buy to remove the stick from your ass. we get it--the economy sucks. just be happy anyway. and to the toll workers who routinely have to deal with the NJ-Philly area? keep groovin'. you never know what fire you can spark inside yourself. or someone else's blog.

-k.
